Entertaining at Home
I love good food, how about you? Do you like to cook? I was never a good cook and sure didn’t want to have friends over for dinner.But that has all changed, thanks to a great cook book called “5 Star Secert Recipes” For years my wife and I tried to cook. Things just never turned out the way we had planned. Some times we would get it right but most of the time we were not happy with our meals. We have lived most of our lives in San Francisco and with some of the best restaurants in the world within a couple of miles who needed to cook? But that changed when I was offered early retirement. We moved to the beautiful Napa Valley. Now the Napa Valley has some great restaurants but up here people like to entertain at home. We wanted to invite family and friends over to our home but we couldn’t cook. It was a real problem for us as most of our friends had traveled the world over and had ate in the best restaurants. We wanted to have great meals at our house also.I started buying cook books and cooking all these great meals. Only one thing wrong , my meals were not that great, my wife told me so. I started talking to some of our local chiefs trying to get thier recipes, it didn’t work. One day I was asking a friend about his recipes and he told me about “5 Star Secert Recipes”. I went on the enternet and found it, my lucky day. After cooking a few of the dishes in the book I was ready. We invited some friends over for Sunday Brunch and I did all the cooking. They were so surprised because the food was wonderful.I couldn’t belive what I was hearing, they were asking me for my recipes. Now my wife thinks I’m a darn good cook, or at least she says I am. Maybe that’s her way of getting me to cook our meals. But who cares just as long as they keep coming back for more.This great Cook Book was written by Ron Douglas, and he has done a great job. The recipes are very easy to follow. He as recipes from all over the world, most from world famous restaurants. I now love to cook, just wish someone would find an easy way for me to clean my kitchen. With all these wonderful recipes to pick from I now have a use for my home made wine. I’m still trying to make a nice red wine, so I guess I’ll have to find another good book on wine making. Now that I can cook a descent meal I like having dinner at my home.
